Heartwood keeps a full copy of your box on your phone, stores encrypted copies with integrity checks, and gives you a free export at any time so you always hold your own copy.

This is an operational promise, not a claim that data loss is impossible.

If Heartwood Ever Shuts Down

We will give at least 90 days' notice by email where we have it, in the app, and by notification where enabled.

Export stays free and available for the whole wind-down period.

The export format is open and documented at /export-schema, so your archive stays usable without Heartwood.

No Hostage Data

Export and account deletion are free and self-serve at all times, not only during a shutdown.

Paid plans buy storage; they never buy the right to see or export your own memories.
